Biografía

Diego Jimeno (1974) tiene una carrera de ilustrador exitosa, sobre todo en ilustración publicitaria, desde apenas empezada la universidad. Paralelamente siempre ha llevado su faceta de pintor sin las ataduras intrínsecas del uso ilustrativo de las imágenes a una pintura con un estilo libre y personal. Son muy escasas las ocasiones en que ha sido posible ver públicamente su obra pictórica. Actualmente está preparando una exposición con cuadros de mayor formato.

ARTIST STATEMENT


I believe beauty and harmony are essential to the human experience. I use creativity as a way to reshape reality and explore the feeling of being part of something greater than oneself. My artistic process is inspired by nature, visual and poetic elements, love, and human emotions. Through painting, I dive into the play of light and shadow, color and texture, with the human figure often at the center of my work.

From childhood drawings to a Fine Arts degree and almost three decades creating commissioned work for multinational brands, my path has always been linked to images. In recent years, I've focused on expressing myself through personal work. My aim is to steal moments of contemplation—experiences that invite reflection on life and human nature. I want my art to have a positive impact on people’s lives.

For me, success means sparking real feelings and thoughts through what I create. I believe in the power of art to resist the dehumanization we often see around us. I’m convinced that experiencing genuine art can help us reconnect and realign.

I live in Madrid with my wife, our two children, and three cats. My work is dedicated to those who value what makes us fully human. For me, art is a way to resist decay and celebrate the greatness of humanity.
